Through researching its magnificent Zen furniture and its unique items, Kalaë has a special interest in work conditions surrounding their restoration or manufacture. The fact of being on hand to make each purchase allows us to make a wise choice and also to make sure no child works in any of the process and that the general conditions of workers are respected. We purchase only in the places where the conditions of workers are at their best, whether in respect of a salary or wages.

As for our Vivia furniture, its construction is done in the Mauricie region, in workshops where environmental and durability concerns are all that matters. We use the least toxic products and the majority of our packaging is recyclable or reusable. All our wood have the FSC certification. The Forest Stewardship Council is your guarantee that the wood products you buy come from healthy forests in strong communities. FSC is an international forest system certification and forest products that support the WWF Canada, Greenpeace and the Fondation David Suzuki.The adhesives used in its manufacture have no formaldehydes and you are free from all toxic fumes! Finally, the finish of our new collection is made from Livos oil, completely natural and environmentally friendly.
